Our Boating Adventures

Our boating adventures from today back to 2005 are covered in the three sections, as described on the home page (Introduction and Navigation) and links are provided to the sections.

A few pictures from our travels are in the collage below.  We are cruisers, over 40,000 miles mostly in the US, Canada, and the Bahamas.   A quick look at the boats we have used is available below the collage.

We did most of the long-range cruising on a 43′ Vista named Apolonia.  She is shown below.  We sold her in December 2017 as she was just too much to keep up anymore.  We purchased the 1999 Maxum 3700 you see below the Vista.  We named her Apolonia also … just because.   We were living in Port St Lucie FL and thought this would be a good boat for the area.  During this period, we also owned a 1958 22′ classic picnic boat built by Davis Boat Works, named Paget.  We used her for short trips, but mostly we spent time restoring her.  We sold her in Florida, and she is now boating in Miami.  More detailed pictures of the boats we’ve owned are found in Section II.

Above is the original Apolonia, a 43′ aft cabin Motor Yacht.

This is Paget, a ’58 antique cruiser built by Davis Boat Works.

After a few years in Florida, we decided we wanted to live in Colonial Beach.  We missed the friends and activities.  It was such a great place to live, we wondered why we left.  After buying a home in the town we also purchased a 42′ Grand Banks Trawler for boating in the Chesapeake and hopefully for other Bahama’s trips.
